Diarrhea of the Keyboard

Not to be confused with Diarrhea ON the Keyboard.

I have returned to Our Favored Blog to see that Rog has taken over...in true Shock and Awe style. Good stuff.

Anybody have any predictions about Joe Lieberman's fate in the democratic caucus? Will his chairmanship be removed? Will he be booted from the caucus?

Will Missouri ever give up its electoral votes?

If you didn't hear, we here in MA had a question on the ballot to change possession of less than an ounce of marijuana into a civil charge rather than a criminal charge. I support the concept and voted for it. I was pretty sure that it would pass, despite the fact that literally every police chief and district attorney in the state came out against it. As it happened, not only did it pass, but by a 2-1 margin! Shocking! Way to go, Marijuanachusetts!

I did see that the assisted suicide (with a bunch of conditions) question was passed in Washington. Hmmm.

I think Lieberman should be stripped of his chairmanship. He came out against Obama AND spoke at the Republican convention against him. He ignored the will of his constituents when he ran even though he lost the primary. So he's basically said to the party, "Yeah, I'm going to go ahead and do what suits me best. Sorry if it increases the chances of a woman losing the right to choose or a continuation of war or the outbreak of a new conflict or (fill in the blank with McCain presidency options)."

As to Massachusetts, good for them. Speaking as a guy who's never even gone one toke over the line, I can still appreciate the mounds of research speaking to the benefits of marijuana (most recently, the finding that marijuana contains disease fighting properties that could have saved lives a while back).

And as for assisted suicide laws, I support those, too--people should have the choice over their end of life decisions.
